Mike was a wonderful neighbour and friend. His friendship with my daughter Briar was such that he earned an honorary ‘uncle’ title and was usually one of the first people she would think of outside of our house. She adored him and he always made time for her, saving books for her to look at first. I spent most of my time printing the newsletter with Mike once a month. We would put the world back on its axis after tearing it apart to begin with. I loved his stories and the time always went by speedily and never dragged. I would also be backup IT help for his laptop. All he needed to do was shout ‘Jenny!’ over the wall and I know I would see a friendly face. Briar and I will really miss him.
